AIMS AND OBJECTIVES  FOR THE TOY POODLE SOCIETY OF NSW

 ?         To promote and raise the profile of pure bred Toy Poodles to the public

 ?         To encourage the breeding of healthy puppies.

 ?         To encourage hereditary disease testing of Toy Poodles by holding clinics on a regular basis for diseases such as PRCD PRA, PRA & Patella Luxation.

 ?         To compile an Hereditary Disease Register

 ?         To encourage and assist aspiring judges to become involved in our breed outside of the judges training scheme e.g. Open Shows & Parades.

 ?         Puppy Register, to provide the public with an easy access service via the phone and the internet. With the aim of being able to recommend good quality puppies from breeders that conform to hereditary disease testing.

 ?         Open Shows

 ?         Parades

 ?         Stud Book, we would like to be able to establish a Stud Book for the use of breeders who wish to locate hereditary disease tested dogs .

 ?         Inform, educate and encourage the public through Pet Expos.

 ?         Mentoring of new members, encourage new members to become involved in exhibiting with the back up they need to present their dogs well for the conformation ring thus giving them the confidence to continue.

 ?         One Championship Show per year, the first to be in 2008 but with the option of an additional one later.

 ?         Gala Day, to present the new and improved Toy Poodle Society of NSW to the public and dog fraternity, to be held in 2007.

 ?         Bi-Monthly General Meetings

 ?         Bi-Monthly Committee Meetings

 ?         Bi-Monthly Newsletter

 ?         Training Day, to help new and existing members with ring etiquette and handling, coat maintenance and tools of the trade, preparing the poodle for the ring and top knot banding and spraying.

 ?         Lectures, to help educate on issues such as colour breeding, hereditary diseases etc.

 All of the above to be put into practice with the needs of both Standard and Miniature Poodles to be taken into consideration and wherever possible to include them in activities such as Pet Expos, Hereditary Disease Clinics. 

These aims and objectives to be implemented within a five year period.
